We are a network that brings together community groups, charities and local authority partner agencies such as schools and housing associations in England’s Northwestern borough of Cheshire West and Chester.
Community activities take place in the towns of Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich and Winsford.
We began in April 2017 as a partnership between Cheshire West Voluntary Action, Citizens Advice Cheshire West, Healthbox CIC and West Cheshire Foodbank thanks to a grant from Cheshire West and Chester Council. Since then we have also received funding from the Department for Education and Big Lottery as a partner of Feeding Britain.
We are overseen by a steering group composed of:
Feeding Britain is a charity working to combat hunger and food poverty in the UK. As a national network they hope to bring together people on the ground to share best practice, ideas and common issues. With this information, Feeding Britain hopes to address the root causes of hunger through national policy reform and legislation.
As a Feeding Britain Pilot area, The Welcome Network, has the opportunity to come together with other areas every six months to share emerging issues & Ideas on the ground, organise exchange visits and act on national policy.
